• Our Sysco Corporation team in Burlington, NC is growing.
• Benefit from working in Burlington, a key hub for the Food Service Logistics industry.

Fuel the Culinary Industry

Restaurants, hospitals, and schools cannot function without fresh ingredients. Sysco is the global leader in foodservice distribution. As a Sysco Foodservice Box Truck Driver, you will pilot a heavily customized, multi-temp refrigerated 26-foot straight truck (box truck) to execute high-volume deliveries to local kitchens. If you thrive in a highly physical, fast-paced environment and want a driving job that keeps you incredibly active while paying elite commercial wages, this is your perfect fit.

Foodservice & Box Truck Operations

• Multi-Temp Fleet Operations: Safely operate a massive refrigerated box truck. You must meticulously manage the climate controls for frozen, chilled, and dry goods compartments to ensure strict food safety compliance during transit.
• Extreme Ramp Unloading: This is an incredibly physical, touch-freight role. You will utilize a steep metal ramp extending from the back of the box truck, using a two-wheel hand truck to aggressively run towering stacks of heavy food cases (often 50-80 lbs each) down the ramp and directly into restaurant coolers and basements.
• Customer Relationship Management: Act as the crucial link between Sysco and the Chef. You will review invoices on-site, process returns for damaged produce, and ensure the customer receives precisely what they ordered.
• Route Efficiency: Navigate complex city environments and chaotic restaurant alleyways safely, maximizing your delivery speed to hit tight dispatch windows.

The Route Advantage

Foodservice routing is legendary for its high pay structure. Drivers frequently earn component pay (base + per case + per mile), leading to massive earning potential. Enjoy early morning dispatch times, highly predictable local routes that get you home every night, and world-class union or corporate benefits.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age. You must possess a valid driver's license (Class B or Class A CDL is heavily preferred and often required for the weight class of the refrigerated box truck). Extreme physical fitness is an absolute requirement; you must be capable of running heavily loaded hand trucks down steep metal ramps continuously. A clean DOT record and background check are mandatory.
